The official X account of World Set off introduced that the collection is receiving a full reboot almost 4 years after the anime concluded in January 2022.
The brand new “REBOOT Mission” was revealed alongside a teaser visible and a 15-second promotional video, with extra particulars scheduled to be unveiled at Soar Festa 2026 on Dec 20, 2025.
The reboot marks Toei Animation’s return to Daisuke Ashihara’s sci-fi motion manga, which follows Border, a company defending Earth from interdimensional invaders referred to as Neighbors.
In response to Toei Animation, the Reboot Mission can be a very new work, remaking the story from the manga’s first chapter. In response to the official web site, the reboot will cowl the Border Enlistment Arc, the Giant-Scale Invasion Arc, and the start of the B-Rank Wars Arc.
The unique anime adaptation aired its first season from 2014 to 2016, with second and third seasons arriving a lot later in 2021 and 2021–2022. The brand new announcement follows a cryptic “12.4 REBOOT” publish on the anime’s official X account earlier this month.
World Set off manga was initially serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Soar journal from February 2013 to November 2018, and transferred to Soar Sq. in December 2018. Its chapters have been collected in 29 tankobon volumes as of December 2025.
In North America, the manga has been licensed for English launch by Viz Media.
